Awakening Our Communities to the Gospel

The last Conference Capital Campaign was held in 1985 and raised approximately 2 million dollars.  The money from this Campaign bought land for 27 new, thriving United Methodist Churches.  These funds are now depleted.  If land is to be purchased for new United Methodist Churches in our Conference, it must be raised through Offer them Christ, our Conference’s Capital Campaign approved 15 September 2001.   The goal of Offer Them Christ  is to raise 5 million dollars of which 85% will go to purchase land for new churches and 15% for refurbishing, expanding, and/or building campus ministry facilities.  As a connectional United Methodist Church in our Conference, it is essential that our church does its part as we join together with other churches in offering Christ to our friends and neighbors.  It will probably be another 15 years before we have this opportunity, again.  As fast as Central Texas is growing, the Central Texas Conference must act now in order to meet the spiritual needs of people moving to our communities.

Students are a Snapshot of the Future

Campus ministry seeks to discipleship students and be a steady beacon of God’s truth at a time in life when young people are most vulnerable, searching for answers.

Approximately 15% of the funds raised in our Conference’s Capital Campaign, Offer Them Christ, will help to make our successful campus ministries more welcoming, effective, and appealing to students.  Colleges and Universities to receive funds are:  Hill College, Hillsboro, Texas; Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas; Navarro College, Corsicana, Texas; University of Texas Arlington, Arlington, Texas; Baylor University, Waco, Texas; and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth.  Campus ministries at Southwestern and Texas Wesleyan are housed at United Methodist institutions which help take care of most of their capital needs.  Our church can help meet the spiritual needs of future generations by participating in Offer Them Christ.
